Update: Mayor Bowser and Jack Evans will attend this important meeting on the future of Georgetown's two public schools.
The much-anticipated renovation of Hyde-Addison, Georgetown's only public elementary school, is due to begin next year. In a controversial move, the City recently decided to relocate the school's 316 young students to a site three miles away, at Euclid and 11th, during the two-year construction.
Meanwhile, ongoing construction at the Duke Ellington School for the Arts continues to significantly exceed the original cost and timeline.
To find out what the status of these projects is and what they mean for Georgetown, come to CAG's Community meeting. Representatives from the District, the School Improvement Team, and the Georgetown community will share the latest news about the Hyde and Duke Ellington renovations and discuss how they are impacting our neighborhood.
Tours of Hyde school will be offered during the 7-7.30pm reception.
Refreshments will be provided by District Donut.
